ITC Ltd will be in focus the country's largest cigarette maker is likely to post a net profit of Rs 1,580 crore for the quarter ended June 2012, up 18.6 per cent YoY from Rs 1,322 crore. ITC Net sales are expected to have grown 15.6 per cent YoY to Rs 6,670 crore from Rs 5,767 crore.
The rupee opened higher on Thursday, The currency rose by 13 paise against the US dollar in early trade, on the Interbank Foreign Exchange. At 9:05 a.m., the rupee was at 56.03/04 to the dollar versus its last close of 56.16/17. In the last four days, rupee has lost 104 paise against the dollar.
The Sensex rose 0.3 per cent early on Thursday by gains in Hindustan Unilever, ITC and Bharti Airtel. At 9:20 a.m., the 30-share BSE index was trading at 16,852.16 rose up 0.04 percent. 50-share NSE index was up 0.04 per cent at 5,114.35.
